Embroidery

What to Consider When Choosing Embroidery

For a far more premium method of applying your designs we also offer embroidery services for hats and garments. The advantage of embroidery is that it provides an extremely durable, vibrant imprint that will survive any number of wash cycles. The main disadvantages are that depending on the complexity and size of your design it can be substantially more expensive than other print methods. Additionally, due to the material qualities of the thread used to produce your design, a lot of small, intricate detail can easily be lost with this process. Lastly if you need any inspiration for garment styles, printing options, or possible design ideas, give our Instagram a look where we have a bunch of previous client’s print projects highlighted.

Advantages of Embroidery

Embroidery is a high quality application with a high preceied value. Embroidery is more durable and is much more resistant to any damage from wash cycles.

Disadvantages of Embroidery

Embroidery is a more expensive deocation process. The design is more simplified and requires a minimum font and line size. Embroidery colours are limited to the thread colours available.

Technical Guidelines for Guidelines

File Format

When sending in your art file for embroidery we need it to be saved as a fully vectorized Illustrator file (eps, ai, svg, etc). If you only have access to a pixel-based version of the file (jpg, png, etc) we may be able to convert it for you for an additional set of fees. If you are unfamiliar with these terms please feel free to contact us with any questions you have regarding your design.

Detail and Gradients

When finalizing your design please be aware that extremely fine lines are often impossible to accurately recreate. To ensure readability any small text needs to be at least 0.25 inches in height. Finally, it is not possible to recreate any smooth gradients or glow effects. If you have any concerns over how your design might work as an embroidery please feel free to contact us.

File Gradients

The maximum size of your design is heavily dependent on the particular garment you are printing on. Please send us your design and desired garment (or other promotional product) and we can let you know the maximum total imprintable area.
