We know that there are a ton of options available for you to choose from when deciding where and how to get your custom apparel or promotional products printed. However, when it comes to print shops not all companies will give you the same experience. Many larger companies have completely automated processes that do not take the time to speak with you and figure out exactly what it is you are looking for. At Hardboiled Inc. we do as much as we can to make sure that product that you receive meets all of your expectations. This is the same no matter what the size of your order is we always will strive to provide you with a perfect print and an excellent overall customer experience.
Here at Hardboiled Inc. we have a wide variety of printing equipment to meet the needs of your custom apparel or promotional project. Our biggest pieces of equipment are our automated and manual silk screen presses on which we print all of our higher volume orders. These presses can handle a variety of garments, tote bags, and other assorted fabric products such as bandanas, aprons, etc. We also have a direct-to-garment (DTG) digital printer which we use for orders with intensely colourful and detailed designs. The DTG printer is also good for very small orders, print-on-demand, and fulfillment so please contact us if any this is relevant to your printing needs. Lastly we also have access to embroidery and heat press machines for any thread or vinyl based printing you might want done. For any of the other plastic, ceramic, or metal promotional products we have listed on our site, these are made offsite during the manufacturing process.
If are you unfamiliar with the screen printing process, to get your design onto a garment we first need to expose the artwork onto the photosensitive mesh of a silk screen. Silk screens can be made using a variety of different meshes which each excel at producing different kinds of prints. Meshes with lower thread counts are best for simple designs with large areas of flat colour as the mesh allows for large amounts of ink to easily pass through it. Meshes with higher thread counts are tougher to print through, but allow for extremely high detail designs to maintain things like thin line work, halftones, or small text. Mesh count is not something you will have to worry about on your end, but rest assured that we will always be choosing the right screen for each job. Additionally, as we are a small shop when your order is all printed and packed up we will wash out your screens. This ensures that the next time you want to print with us we can expose a fresh, new screen for you that has not degraded over time.
We have a number of high quality ink varieties available for you to choose from. Sometimes particular inks are either a good or bad combination with certain fabric types or garment styles. Additionally, as we hand mix most of our inks we can make changes to the colour or viscosity of the ink fairly easily. If you are unsure about any of this, please let us advise you on which ink to choose to get the desired final effect.
Mockups and Print Samples
After you confirm your order with us, no what which type of printing method or product you choose, we will make and send you a digital mockup for you to look over and approve. We want to do everything we can to ensure that we know exactly what you are looking for and that there are no unexpected surprises in the printing process. We also have the option available to order you in samples of garments we might not already have in the shop, and can even set up a time for you to come in and look at the first couple of prints on the press to approve things such as ink colour or exact placement.
